Need help with styling?

I made this to help you decide on what to wear to your session. You hired me based off of the "look" of my work most likely and in order to achieve that here are some of my suggestions. Ultimately, it depends on the location chosen however, sticking with these few choices of color, texture, and prints your outfit combination is the main focus of the image.

I would like to describe my style of photography as warm, moody, crisp, and vibrant.

Color

You want your colors to blend and think neutral earthy, warm, rich tones. Don't have two people matching, instead their colors should compliment each other. The colors you choose will affect the overall image and the editing style. I would limit your cool colors. Stay away from baby pastels, neon, bright colors.

Patterns

Geometric, florals, or stripes are good patterns but should be a medium size. I would stay away from any bold, bright or large patterns. The good thing about choosing a pattern is you can pull the colors to coordinate the rest of the family outfits. Your pattern should still stay in the color tones suggested above.

Textures

I LOVE textures as a way to pull some dimensions into your images. Different types of textures are muslin, linen, chunky sweaters and cardigans, cotton, wooden buttons, detailed shawls, lace, flowy dresses, velvet, corduroy, or any statement pieces like jewelry or clothing that has detail work.

Ladies -

Don't ever feel like you're too dressed up! You know that dress or that outfit you've been wanting to wear with nowhere to wear it, now is your time. Dresses and skirts are very flattering and great for twirls. Jeans are a way to go and then you have the option to dress it up if you want, if not rock the casual look. Your shoes will surely be shown in some of the images so don't overlook them. Accessories are a great way to stand out. Most importantly, be comfortable!

Gentlemen -

You will need to compliment the family and be comfortable as well. Your shoes will be shown in some of the images so don't overlook them. Long sleeve or short sleeve just as long as you're comfortable. Rolled up sleeves will give a more casual look if that's what you're going for. Button ups or any textured henleys are great for photos. Just make sure your button up is not a loud print. Pants or shorts will be fine, just wear what you're comfortable in. Please avoid hats or any large logos. Most importantly, be comfortable!

Remember,

You are creating art that will be hanging on your wall. Plan your outfits to coordinate with your home decor.
